High Ways and Sky Ways 2012
Route Description

See the race info page for general info, rules and list of checkpoints.

The nominal route is below (note the extra bits for the 8- and 12-mile routes) although you are permitted to choose your own subject to remaining on public rights of way or public access land other than these sections:

Changes of direction are relative to the previous instruction - beware if you turn round at a checkpoint!

Distances are very approximate - I've largely used 20m, 50m or 100m as a rough guide.

CAUTION is included where you reach a road and CARE where it's easy to miss a turn so you need to navigate carefully.

You can paste the route notes into a word processor and adjust the text font & size to your own preference. I find two-column printing to be easier to handle since the paper can be folded to a convenient size.

Clicking on the photos will link to larger versions.
