The Big G

'Twas once just a dream but became the Big G,
Blossomed o'er time and set us all free.
'88It began as it should, right at The Beginning
(Little did we know 'twould become so compelling)
'89To be followed anon by the Torment of Ten
Before forging on om and not stopping then.
~
'90Expanding apace to a Grizzly Twelve.
We accepted the challenge and pushed ourselves
'91Up hill and down dale, over Hillocks and Rowlocks
Defeating the Wall and all other setbacks
'92'Ere making our way through the Eye of the Storm
Along many a path, both ancient and worn.
~
'93We suffered the Sting of the Butteryfly
Without so much as a "Where?" or a "Why?"
'94And experienced the Magical Memory Jog
Through wood, along beach, 'cross field and in bog.
'95Then found, to our glee, when the Nightmare Returned
That the coveted T-shirt was once again earned.
~
'96Next was the turn (the Revenge) of the Lemmings.
By which time Big G had begot many offspring.
'97What followed was known as Apocalypse, Yes
Perhaps to be last so we gave it our best
'98Before returning again for a Flight of Fancy;
No race had before ever fired up such ardency.
~
'99Clearly by then, Insanity and in Health,
We had discovered Big G's incredible wealth
'00And we'll place Another Brick in the Wall
Since we are powerless once more to ignore the call.
'01?And so, if the Joker is in the Pack,
We shall return without looking back.
~
Wherever (whenever) our paths may lead
AWe have found the door, we have been freed.
NAnd however (whyever) our ways may wend
DWe have learnt that death is not the end.
For whether we go to the east or the west
BIn Big G is true peace, not in sleep or rest.
E~
Y'Twas once just a dream but became the Big G,
OBlossomed o'er time and set us all free.
NIt began as it should, right at The Beginning
DSo will end with it's time, as is befitting.
?And we know that when all is said and run
We shall remain (in our hearts) forever young.
