Well done Exmouth and thank you for the help in organising the event. The gauntlet is down !!. All things considered there was a fairly small spread in times. Thank you to everyone who carried the very special baton and ensured its safe arrival in Axmouth. Thank you to Maurice Ault for everything he did and for passing the baton on.

Sally King from Dorset CC (World Heritage Coast team) ran from Sidmouth to Axmouth and says she will do the whole run next year. We had a wonderful day for the event and it was a great pleasure to see so many running friends on this inaugural run. We were especially pleased that Nic (and thirsty dogs) and Sally both ran and did incredibly well. Both have been deeply involved in tirelessly promoting and respecting the superb coast that we have here in East Devon and Dorset. Thanks as well to Exmouth Harriers and Sidmouth RC for their help, especially to Malcolm Bayer. Thanks also to Penny Bayer of EDDC for organising the whole week of celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Heritage Coast Path. Thanks also to St.Johns for "standing by", the drinks station teams, Pat Edmunds of AVR, Maurice Ault of AVR and Exmouth and the ladies at the Axmouth Sea Discovery Centre. And of course thanks to all those who ran and made it such an enjoyable day.

Interesting that the fastest team just beat the fastest individual, that AVR had the fastest individual and the slowest team, and that LMRB was described as "dead on the last hill" but still won and set THE time to beat for an individual. The distance was officially measured as 23.97 miles with about 4000 ft of ascent. I appreciate that times do not include "rest (pub) stops" so maybe people actually did the run quicker than the results show.

See you next year and bless your weary soles.
