Redesigned website welcomed

The redesigned Axe Valley Runners website, launched this week, has been very well received by members and the wider running community.

The eye catching and easy to navigate design was developed by local Seaton company Blaze Concepts, supported by a number of members of the club.  Chair of AVR, Lesley Adams, said “we are very grateful to Blaze and especially AVR member and Blaze Director Wayne Tooze and web developer, Adam Wickett, for their expertise, help and advice.”

Club Runs Suspended

Our sport’s governing body, England Athletics, has been lobbying the Government over the past few days to allow running clubs which have provided a Covid Secure Environment to be exempt from the restrictions which start tomorrow, 5th November. This has not been successful so from tomorrow we can train with our household or with one other person in a public outdoor space and our club runs are suspended until 2nd December.

Read their latest guidance

There is no restriction on how long we can run outdoors so let’s make the most of that and keep fit and healthy.

Club Runs Returning

Club runs are returning gradually under our Covid arrangements.

All runs must be pre-booked with Run Leaders.  These are advertised on our Facebook page on Fridays and in the “Weekahead” email on Sundays. Please follow all guidance and do not just turn up at a run.  Detailed plan available here:
